It's time for a whiskey cocktail! When I lived in LA, one of my favorite restaurants was across the street from my apartment. Being a creature of habit, I basically ordered the same things every time I went. One of those items was a whiskey cocktail.
Unfortunately that restaurant ended up closing, so I was forced to try to recreate it. So, this is my version of that cocktail. And It's quite delightful on a Saturday afternoon.
Ingredients:
- 2oz whiskey
- ½oz orange juice
- ¾oz lime juice
- ½oz simple syrup
- 1 sprig of mint leaves, torn
Directions:
In cocktail glass, place a few mint leaves on the bottom and fill with crushed ice.
In a cocktail shaker, place remaining mint leaves (torn) on bottom and then fill with ice cubes. Then add all of the liquids. Shake for a minute and then strain into cocktail glass.
If you want to be fancy, you can garnish with a lime wheel or a few mint leaves. I personally think it's pretty enough without.
